He has the legal background to understand this. He’s being genuinely negligent here. And if he’s performed a complete volte face on the issue he claimed was the most important one facing the UK. Why would you trust anything he says in future?
I don't agree at all, Dawn. Starmer is not in any position to 'allow' the Tories to do anything. Labour are intending to vote against the bill, and Louise Haigh just confirmed this on LBC. Starmer doing the right thing, letting the govt hang itself with its own rope.
Starmer makes clear in the article he will oppose a hard Brexit unless there is a decent deal in place. He is saying a least worse deal us something Labour will accept in order to concentrate on a continuing crisis.
Don't interfere with Brexit and you won't be called an antisemite...
