*Now* Starmer has adopted a position completely at odds with his history, allowing the Tories to steer hard to the right and aim for crashing out, risking the lives and rights of Irish citizens. Starmer’s position is *letting this happen*.
He has the legal background to understand this. He’s being genuinely negligent here. And if he’s performed a complete volte face on the issue he claimed was the most important one facing the UK. Why would you trust anything he says in future?
Starmer was attempting to keep the membership, who didn't want Brexit, in alignment with a leader who wanted to negotiate it. Hence the "confirmatory referendum" policy, which made some sense within the Labour Party, and none anywhere else.
Would you say that this was done to undermine Corbyn or so you think that's just a conspiracy?
Precisely, a discordant policy which split the party and the voters.
