Corbyn said Labour should push for softest possible Brexit, with human rights as the top priority & was savaged by (especially) The Observer for it. Starmer was biggest “we can have a magic second referendum!” cheerleader in the shadow cabinet, forcing the untenable GE position.
*Now* Starmer has adopted a position completely at odds with his history, allowing the Tories to steer hard to the right and aim for crashing out, risking the lives and rights of Irish citizens. Starmer’s position is *letting this happen*.
He has the legal background to understand this. He’s being genuinely negligent here. And if he’s performed a complete volte face on the issue he claimed was the most important one facing the UK. Why would you trust anything he says in future?
Gaslit much?
Starmer's policy seems now to amount to nothing more than an electoral nihilism of 'advocate nothing, do nothing, look electable'.
No matter how bad Boris is at pmq's, Sir People's Vote can't open his mouth about Brexit! Wouldn't take Quincy to 'forensically' make him even more Kalvin Kleiny!
