This is appalling. Hope the Observer are happy they told readers to vote for former Tory, turned Lib Dem, over @emmadentcoad unseating her for this Tory.https://twitter.com/NickTorfaen/status/1303079195178864646 …

Met two people in the week of the election planning to vote LD solely cos tactical vote told them to....
LDs up and down the country lied about their prospects. Did them no good but benefited the tories.
This is the cost RW 'Labour' - some now Lords - need to put on their balance sheet when they weigh-up what they truly cared about over the last 5 years. (My guess is it was themselves)...pic.twitter.com/Rv1yMcEZcM
And they ran a dishonest campaign.
The LibDems took more votes from Tory wards than they did Labour wards, so it looks like that margin would have been less thin. EDC, thinking she had won in the early evening, is on public record “thanking” Gyimah for his help. Agree that it was a dodgy poll though.
There were no such dodgy polls in the likes of Finchley and Golders Green, Cities & Westminster and Wimbledon, to name three, where Labour inexplicably campaigned on Election Day. That could have been another 3 votes for yesterday’s amendment.
Not only that his campaign against Emma was appalling, falsely accusing her of being instrumental in the council decisions on the refurbishment which led to her receiving death threats.
There were a number of newly created ‘tactical voting’ websites that urged voters to vote anything but Labour, ‘to keep the Tories out’. They went hard for this seat, in particular. Hopefully someday, someone will write a book on it.
