Pleased you acknowledge it was a swindle! Well for the record I worked for Jeremy 2016-2017, and we had literally 2 weeks preparing RLB’s campaign before it launched compared to being up against two years of planning, while on a third of the budget with a demoralised membership

The RLB campaign was an unmitigated disaster. Couldn't get away from continuity Corbyn jibes, didn't attempt to sell her vision (Presumably because she doesn't have one). If I were leading her campaign she'd be 20 points ahead in the polls now.

For Next time, I'm just 1 tweet away. The left need a vision & argument for everything. That should be the takeaway from RLBs campaign.

The membership wasn’t in the mood to hear a grand vision, it was demoralised and deflated. They wanted party unity and a focus on winning power. That’s why Starmer won. But it’ll be a different context next time around

I don't agree. They wanted someone who would come out fighting and no one did.

The left did, the rest of the membership had different priorities. Most members aren’t factional. That said, if the Labour Leaks emerged sooner things might have been different

Two thirds of the party joined because of Corbyn and half the existing members voted for him. The left was probably a good 70% of the party. Not anymore.

Yep, they liked Corbyn but they weren’t necessarily socialists. And those who joined to support Corbyn were offset in part by the People’s Vote supporters joining to vote for Starmer

RLB didn't inspire me like Corbyn and I fell for Starmer's video which he got out very early. Maybe it WAS 2 years in the making. If I could turn back time I would vote RLB. There probably was a bit of who's 'more electable' involved in my thinking as well.
