So, your results got downgraded, you missed your offer. It turns out you’re now getting the grades after all, but your uni only kept 2% of places aside for appeals. Now that everyone‘s grades are changing again, that 2% is quickly overwhelmed and the government have capped places

There’s *talk* that they may also skip caps this year. But that would leave unis who accepted students who missed their grades with a dearth of students and in financial ruin.
