For anyone else with bad facial scarring: bought this cheap Boots serum rather than the incredibly expensive Dermatix silicone gel other people said worked well. So the action, rather than necessarily the ingredients, in tissue repair. The wound itself doesn’t look *too* bad, but the swelling is still considerable a fortnight on. Annoying.

Honestly feel like all I ever say to my doctor is “X is just a placebo, right?” and answer is usually “yes” (arnica, hahaha) but the full answers are illuminating.

Am also interested to know why only *now* does my head hurt a lot, given I cracked it open 17 days ago, and it didn’t hurt much then bar when they had to scrub a massive gaping cut down to my skull. Sure the answer is “repairing tissue.”

Oh yes. Makes sense because up until now, it hasn’t hurt at all, which seemed weird given how gnarly it looks. It also never bruised? Entirely remained the same colour as the rest of my forehead. Only had a black eye 10cm below it.

This has, at least, reminded me to check when my next Pregabalin script is due.
