Yep. When I had a small breakdown the doctor kindly prescribed me 3 different drugs, one of which was only 8 tablets and in total cost me just short of 30 quid

Almost 90% of prescriptions are free now anyway. Only a small step to do it for the rest

Always worth remembering you can get a 3 month pre-payment certficate for £29.65. I was recently prescribed 4 items, and my local pharmacist kindly gave me the prescriptions & told me to go home, sort it out online, and then ring through the details.

And a refund! Some pharmacists can sell them too.

I qualify for free but I pay for a pre-payment anyway. I'm now on 17 meds so I'd be so screwed without it.

I come off esa tomorrow so I now have to pay. Without prepayment certificate I'm not sure I'd be able to afford to live

In Wales, the premise for free prescriptions was to make sure all with health issues had their medication. General thought is the annual outlay is more than covered within NHS savings.
