Also worth knowing that vitamin C helps you absorb iron. So, for example, drinking fruit juice *with* the iron rich meal/ or tablets should help you to absorb more of it.

Guinness does have some iron but not enough if you’re anaemic. Drs will normally start you on ferrous sulphate if your bloods show anaemia but also ask for your folate & b12 to be checked. Green, leafy veg is good. If you end up taking tabs then have 200ml fresh OJ with it xxx
