Are you going to cut an extremely expensive tube car out and try to display it, or tell tourists to get on the tube and hope for the best?

How exactly were they supposed to monetise it? All I can think of is selling postcards or window stickers, and I’m not sure there would actually be that much of a market...

Precisely - weird to denounce Khan specifically, for not.... coming up with some likely-to-fail expensive opportunism?

Also was his solution to ... sell the train? Like, a £15m train?

They are expensive as hell! Do you take out the whole train, or try to remove that carriage? Either way you’ll lose money, and leaving it will likely encourage more graffiti.

These people *sigh - the cars are permanently coupled together (I’ve seen people saying the car should be put on display) and if they removed the panels and windows, Bombardier would charge an absolute fortune for replacements cos of how bad the contracts are.
