Paying just £9 isn’t ideal, but I got the impression they very rarely got prescriptions, the pharmacist wasn’t remotely going to tell them why I’m exempt or “what my letter is” as reequested, and the pharmacist clearly couldn’t remove it so it was just performative acting out.

Should count my blessings she didn’t then get on the bus behind me and clock my Freedom Pass.

My mum's a pharmacist and people have been ranting about charges or why someone else's was free for decades. Her least favourite part of the job, obviously

Yeah, I imagine people complain a lot, just the first time someone’s overheard my pharmacist say “You’re exempt aren’t you?” and kick off demanding to know why, how and “what letter I was” until the head pharmacist took her aside, was so aggressive, personal and weird.

Try getting one in North America. A friend there paid $90 for her last one, that was a tube of ointment about the size of a kids little finger.

Dread to think how I’d cope with epilepsy, and an incredibly rare genetic spinal condition there

OK, so why did no one tell me? 4 months on anticonvulsants and I find out via your tweet that I don’t need to pay for my prescriptions. Thanks Dawn.
