Genuine question - did anyone ask for this? I’d be interested to know how black fans actually feel about this. I think it is no way the same vein as something like Little Britain. Feels knee jerk and like nervous white tv execs making quick decisions. By all means Little Britain etc straight up offensive but trawling the archives actually really diverting whole convo away from important issues

Was just saying the same thing about the Community episode: seems a worrying precedent to lump in anything that could possibly be construed by anyone as blackface to avoid criticism together, from gleeful blackface, to things that aren’t blackface but are mistaken for them...

RTÉ earlier claimed BLM asked for Father Ted episodes to be taken down which isn’t true. Every example I’ve seen in Europe and US is media orgs themselves rushing to pre-empt criticism or get press for it, rather than anyone actually campaigning
