I’m more excited for this than I was normal people. Read it and then listened on audible after, like a massive fucking fan girl

It’s so good, forcing myself to wait a few weeks before a re-read. Just such delicious prose you can get lost in. Reminded myself in some ways of Youth by JM Coetzee.

I wanna go back over it and highlight all the bits where I went “omg”, like the bit where Naoise detailed the difference between the posh English catholic’s and the Irish poverty Catholicism

That bit was absolutely magical. Gonna buy it on Kindle too, so I can do just that, and give my hard copy to a friend.

I would normally, but the two-colour page ends (sure there’s a fancy term) don’t permjt me to do my usual “using pastel fancy highlighters like a 16-year old” schtick.

Haha same, it’s beautiful. Did you manage to get your hands on one of the early signed ones?

Yes! And I got to it quite late. A pal sent me a £50 book voucher in a super act of kindness, and was mega-pleased jt was signed when it arrived.
