I heard the interview, I think Blunkett was wrong personally, but his main point was that it's working class children been left behind with out school, the upper class will have got their children tutors and advantages the poor never could. He's trying to stop a lost generation.

Had the misfortune of listening to Blunkett at a conference a couple of years ago. Like many of his contemporaries I had a hard time figuring out how and why he was even a Labour party member let alone an MP and minister.
