Surely, the most important thing about going to the pub is socialising? I can sit on my own at home and drink alcohol for a fraction of the cost.

Genuinely completely impossible. I don't drink anymore, I'm an alcoholic. But when I did, after I got to a certain point, logic and reason departed and no-one could have controlled me. And I know plenty who were more boisterous than I was. Feels like a profound mistake.

Completely agree. We have been in the pub trade for decades. This has a huge number of problems. Massive pressure on bar staff, who are often zero hours and strained anyway, plus barstaff will in all likelihood, get infected. We aren't going to reopen until we are sure it's safe.

[imagines queueing on lines outside a South London kebab house at 4 in the morning] I think it could work.

Everyone in pubs has to drink sitting opposite each other on massive 4m long tables like they're in Dracula's castle
