To be fair if Corbyn says good morning he's torn to shreds by the press.

Well very specifically his introduction to JA Hobson comes to mind
-
The JA Hobson thing is probably key: antisemitism is acceptable for patriotically celebrating national heroes but not insulting the Empire.

I mean the Hobson foreward is a direct comparison that anyone can make if they want to understand the difference. I don't think Rachel Reeves was praising Nancy Astor's antisemitism as much as I don't think Corbyn was. You get the benefit of the doubt if you're not a socialist.

.If you removed all the books written by racist writers in the 19th century you'd clear a lot of shelves. He was an influential writer writing about imperialism. Astor was a Hitler supporter who has had a statue erected in 2019. I don't see how these are equivalent.

If I said Oswald Moseley had a great moustache people would assume I shared his politics. Likewise Rachel reeves praising Nancy Astor being first female mp. Many aristocratic families were nazi sympathisers. To their eternal shame.

Constance Markievicz was the first woman elected to Westminster but we don't like to talk about her because she was a bit of a rebel https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constance_Markievicz …

As long as she avoids criticising Netanyahu's racist policies, unlike Bernie and Jeremy, then she'll probably be untroubled.
