I have written many many data protection courses, including one on consent, ethics and data protection for medical researchers, and consent/privacy do not apply if a person is deceased. I can talk for hours about this stuff.

Yep. I have an incredibly rare genetic condition (to the point my family make up a considerable chunk of that data) and never once been asked for consent to be included in the data count.
