A possible admissions policy: the top (or top 5?) performing FSM pupils in every school shd be admitted to their 1st or 1 of their top3 uni choices? Getting the best grades amg FSM pupils as a greater achievement than being one of 50 pupils getting 3 As at a fee paying school?

IIRC, Warwick did some admissions weighting based on home postcode plus school, and admitted students without interview in poor areas but FSM is an interesting one.

Only issue is lots of kids in poverty with parents in poverty on Universal Credit aren’t eligible for FSM, and what about FE colleges?

Also universities shd have more detailed household income info so FSM isn't only criterion to use, which I agree shd also be tried

Yeah, London’s the outlier, but I reckon you could weight it, or apply a different model.
