A possible admissions policy: the top (or top 5?) performing FSM pupils in every school shd be admitted to their 1st or 1 of their top3 uni choices? Getting the best grades amg FSM pupils as a greater achievement than being one of 50 pupils getting 3 As at a fee paying school?

Only issue is lots of kids in poverty with parents in poverty on Universal Credit aren’t eligible for FSM, and what about FE colleges?

Fair point. Wonder if places that only take A levels (and 3 Bs or better at that) might take 5-10% BTEC as another possible policy ? Then compare degree quals 3 yrs later
