Also, when my back is super tense and stops me sleeping (now), lying on my front, reading propped up helps.

This is way more intimate than you needed to hear but this resonates so strongly with me bc reading that way in bed was 100% my escape from childhood trauma

Alternate nostril breathing is brilliant. Block left nostril with your finger. breathe in slowly through right nostril. Block both nostrils and hold breath for a count of give. Unblock left nostril and breathe out for count of five then in for five. Repeat alternating nostrils.
