Help a girl out: decided to finally learn how to do cryptic crosswords while housebound. What articles/reading/books are good on how to start?

Cryptics are not for Normal people. Or at least that’s what I have decided. They make me feel thick as a brick

It's wordplay. I used to love doing them with my mum. Start with a single compiler, so you can get inside their head.

I recall it clearly explaining the forms of the clues, so that it is clear whether its an anagram of part of the clue, or whatever. Once you have an understanding of this, it seems that the pieces might fall into place. But still, not for me.

Watched the (brilliant) Inside No 9 episode on them so knew there was a strategy, just never had time to fathom it. Hopefully now I can!
