It’s perfectly reasonable for the public to request transparency in how decisions about their health risks are made, and to ask questions about why the UK has chosen to diverge in coronavirus policy from every other country, even if *shock* they’re not epidemiologists.

It’s the job of journalists to scrutinise political decisions, demand greater transparency, and explain complex ideas accessibly, rather than sneeringly expecting readers to lap it up, no questions asked unless they’re an epidemiologist.

Many of these oddballs would be delighted if only epidemiologists had the vote

I question their decisions based on available information from other reputable sources - WHO, Johns Hopkins etc. I want to see their modelling and reasoning. This is not a police state - yet. Open democracy is the only way forward with this. I don't trust Johnson as it is.

Now, Sir, we’d like to try a slightly unconventional high risk method with your treatment today. Any questions? Nah, crack on.
