I'm in an NHS walk-in and there's the usual ingrates grumbling about having to wait. For free specialist care. From doctors who studied for years to work out how to fix them. The NHS is amazing. Don't be ungrateful.
...so I’m able to say when I’m waiting longer, when my doctors are more stressed, when I’m not receiving the proper care. Last time I went to a walk-in centre I waited 4hrs, was sighed at by an overworked locum who accused me of stabbing myself in the ear with a cotton bud....

....to burst the eardrum on purpose. I hadn’t. I’d dragged myself to the walk-in centre due to waiting a week for an emergency GP appt to no avail. Waited three more days for a GP appt, by which time I’d had a vicious infection for 10 days.

I now can’t hear in my left ear & have to watch TV with subtitles. I was put forward for the closest appointment with an ENT specialist in November, and my appointment’s in late May. Glibness about how fab the NHS is always feel like Keep Calm & Carry On posters. Same people too.
