The Irish Embassy being on Cromwell Road is much worse than the British Embassy in Tehran being on Bobby Sands Street
Why on earth couldn’t they fly the flag?

The Irish Ambassador at the time told me that it is privilege not a right to fly a flag at an embassy to the Court of St James (ambassadors are not accredited to the ‘UK’). Ireland didn’t have that ‘privilege’. I wouldn’t swear to it, but I think it changed with the GFA.
