Always absolutely astounded when people reveal they have “lost” their glasses, amazed that some people can see anything at all when they’re off and don’t have to wear them/contacts constantly while awake or walk into walls, fail to make out anything further than 5cm away.

I used to have -7 glasses. I 'lost' them for over an hour and was panicking. They were on my face.

I have to keep multiple spares near my bed in specific places so if I knock my glasses off my bedside table I can find them again, because I can’t see *anything* without them

I had laser surgery 10 years ago. From -7 to 20/20. It was like a miracle (albeit painful for a week). Now the edge is starting to go on my sight and I'm about -0.5. Pathetically, I'm in mourning.

It's weird to imagine what a write-off I'd have been a century ago.
