But he doesn't. The argument he's making is that by messaging that seems to put people into two camps - elite and downtrodden - is to ignore that most people either aren't that or don't consider themselves to be that. It has nothing to do with the middle class being ignored.

The clue was the words ‘in the middle’ and ‘people’ If he’d said Labour had not talked about opportunity, or focussed too much on exploitation, maybe you could question that, but he framed it as group of people ‘in the middle’. It takes some contortion not to see as middle class
