why is it "the coronavirus" when it's a type of virus not a particular virus, does it not have a specific name yet or are all the coronaviruses out of control at once

it is interesting! In principle, the discoverers get to name it, but there's a WHO Committee with approval. Ever since "Ebola", they've been reluctant to give geographical names.
