They do say a bad worker always blames his tools ... So maybe nurses have a way of blaming the patient when blood-tests aren't their strongest skill ...
to all our nurses, but, let's face it, telling the patient their veins are to blame?? Really? Bedside manner, anybody?

Sounds like she might have deserved it.

Not surprised you can’t watch
I usually can, having had 1000s of blood tests since being 16 & permanently anaemic (plus other issues). The few times that nurses have struggled to get my veins I did have to look away. I used to have brilliant veins; not so much now at almost 60.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I shake from head to toe, I never look at my blood and worry myself sick what my blood is going to show, it was a blood test that resulted in a diagnosis I was very ill I am now petrified ever time I have one... the result of that test the chemo killed my veins...

however I have to admit there is one man in our county hospital who is brilliant at finding veins I always ask for him to do it... he knows who he is in Taunton.
