Has anyone read anything good against online repeat prescription ordering services? And also, what’s the most ethical way to order scripts full stop - read that Boots longread, don’t pay for any of my eight medications if it’s relevant.

Been some very helpful replies, but to reiterate - I’m interested in new fangled apps and online companies that use EPS/Patient Access, not people explaining how to order a repeat from my GP, I know that, as someone who takes ~30 tablets a day for multiple conditions.

I know how to order my repeats online through my GP, thank you. That’s why I specifically asked about services that do that for you, either for post or collection.

Boots fought a long but ultimately unsuccessful battle against recognising an independent pharmacists' trade union. Pharmacy2U have been fined for selling patient data previously. There are some horror stories floating around about Pharmacy2U's customer service

Echo has now been bought by Lloyds pharmacy. Some research I did for my PhD suggested that supermarket/multiple pharmacies may be less likely to provide services for what some would consider to be vulnerable patient groupshttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/19962674/ …

I use my local pharmacist as it supports his business. We have a chat as well about either my mother or my medical issues. Good to have human contact

I'm chronically ill & was finding it hard to get to the chemist next to my surgery to collect meds every month, and they didn't deliver, so I started using the online delivery service Pharmacy2U - great until they did a promo with the Daily Mail!
-
So I ditched them, and found a local independent chemist who deliver, and let you reorder 24/7 via their online 'Repeat Prescription Manager': WIN!

Have you seen the work
@bengoldacre did a few years back on GP practices with their own pharmacies? They tend to prescribe more expensive meds because they claim back from NHS. If they don't have pharmacy they just prescribe cheaper version. (That's a v basic explanation)Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
