Why does my cat bite blankets/knitwear then paw at it for a few minutes, and how do I stop him.

It’s a love/comfort thing. It recalls the paddling they do when they’re nursing. Unless he’s biting you rather than the fabric it’s not a big issue. If he’s being destructive to your favourite jumper or blanket, you can try diverting to other things with a bit of Feliway spray.

Feliway! I had no idea they did a spray rather than plug. Will try and divert him to his blankets not my best cardigans.
