Yeah that is pretty weird but to be fair I have a *very* vivid memory of watching Major's leadership resignation speech in '95 so I guess it was a big deal at the time.

I remember Blair waving to cameras as he went into number 10 for the first time in '97, but it may have been because I was eating an exceptionally good burger at the time, was remembering that, and Blair was just along for the ride.

Even though I was saying "Tony Blair he doesn't care" after his first smarmy leadership speech I was still in seventh heaven in 1997 when the Tories were finally removed. It was like a huge weight had been lifted.
