      Doctors are incredibly careful in prescribing: taking these drugs keep me alive, out of hospital, and allow me to work, while this article classes that as “dependency”.

      It sounds dramatic, because it is dramatic. But when patients can’t get pregabalin and have seizures, we’ll be told they’re “dependent”, that too many of us are on these drugs, and going without is actually good for us.

          And it ignores the 50% who have genuine short term need of them, as though they should be told 'oh, your brother's in neuro ITU with catastrophic brain damage? Well, have a nice cup of camomile tea and don't stay up late holding his hand'. Those Zs made it possible to function.
