Yup. And too ill (weirdly enough) to fight back so just paid the fine (stupidly but just to get rid of it). Won't do that the next time it comes through the door tho.

Urgh, sorry to hear that! I’ve photocopied my exemption cert and just post a photocopy back now, I have no idea how they’re so inept. The certificates last 10 years! Go away!

Are some of the systems in the NHS complicated? I’ve only claimed medical exemption and this involves ticking the same box on a form every month for the last 15 years.

Read a few stories of people with learning disabilities sent the letters, and they’re worded accusatively to cause alarm - and often it’s because people *are* entitled but accidentally ticked the wrong exemption (my pharmacist once ticked the pregnancy one for me in a rush).

One in three sent incorrectly seems an awfully high screw up rate for an agency doesn’t it. And I just have epilepsy, have read about older people and people with learning disabilities being terrified of threatened bailiffs.
