Had a DM about this, but please don’t put anything inbetween the casualty’s teeth to stop them biting their tongue. They might crush the object & choke, or break their teeth. Tongues recover fast. Tlit the head back instead if you can.

First thing you should do: check for a medicalert bracelet - that should tell you if they have epilepsy/what type. Also if you find their phone & swipe up, people with epilepsy will usually have saved medical info for the public to find. But mostly, move things away from them...

Is there really a moment before a seizure where the person is aware one is about to descend?
-
For lots of people yes: I often get a sense of deja vu, or a sense of doom, and try and sit down as soon as possible. But sometimes you get no sign. Others, you’re dazed before: one really bad one, I left my flat for some reason & seized in my stairwell and a cab driver found me.

what safety precautions do you take that a "regular" person may not?
-
Avoiding a lot of concerts in case of strobes, and I have a lot more cushions on my bed and sofas in case of seizures/so friends have cushions nearby if I do have a seizure.

Is there any treatment that works, helps, eases ?
-
Lots of medication, that works for some people - I’m on Keppra - but around one in three people (lucky me) have epilepsy that can’t be stopped, but can be slightly controlled.

Stress, tiredness, alcohol are the main ones. Also, grapefruit can cause some epilepsy medication not to work.
