Everyone else has already said it, but this is spot on. Dating men in their late 20s/early 30s fills me with huge embarrassment after the fact, and I have very little respect for men that age who exclusively date people in their late teens/early 20s.https://www.newstatesman.com/2019/07/29-i-look-back-my-teenage-relationships-older-men-more-not-less-confusion …

I dated a 27-year old when I was 16, and remember going to the pub to meet his friends one evening. I thought they were all really rude, when in retrospect, they were acutely embarrassed. I couldn’t buy a drink legally, absolutely mortifying, when of course I thought it was fine.

Replying to @DawnHFoster
I was going to say. At 31 if any of my friends introduced me to their teenage partner I would be mortified. What do young people even like? There is a big difference to dating a 50 year old when you are 30 to dating a 30 year old when you are 16.

Yes, the leap in maturity between 18-25 years is so different to later life, which is why it’s so creepy looking back at those relationships now I’m the age the men I dated were then.
