Yes, absolutely: every one of the ones I dated had not had a girlfriend pre-uni and almost every bloke I know now dating 18-22-year olds has said they lost their virginity very late.

It might also be confidence: if you’re a late starter, you generally lack it, so doing a Leonardo DiCaprio means you don’t come up against the confidence and pushback of women your own age.
