A contract where companies don't offer contractual guarentees. They don't offer any hrs and when they call to let you know they have work, you can choose not to work whatever hrs they have available. Note: most jobs have a minimum numbernof hrs on offer. Zero hrs offer no minimum

@networkrail to use the "we do have a code of conduct" line is even more so. Yet another reminder (which really shouldn't be required in 2019) that voluntary codes of conduct don't work in any business sector. Need to be legally-binding - and fully enforced.Thanks.
