It's a natural climber, trying to cling onto something with its aerial roots. I was going to suggest sticking in some bamboo shoots but just saw you already have some. I usually try to gently tuck the roots back into the pot, but suppose you could trim them, too.pic.twitter.com/AwamyS5OHa

No, it won't hurt it at all — the aerial roots don't serve any purpose other than clinging/climbing onto stuff. Yours looks beautiful by the window btw!
