This attitude highlights what's wrong with the campaign: it doesn't matter if it does nothing and changes no minds, all that matters is that my side feel betterhttps://twitter.com/authorbear2/status/1130500126726860802 …

You underestimate the cheer @ByDonkeys brings to those of us who feel we brought a butter knife to a gunfight. Of *course* they’re not going to change Leavers’ minds. Reason doesn’t, shame doesn’t, what does? I’ll take the morale boost, thanks.

Also £450,000 to make yourself feel better is obscene: sure you'd get a warmer glow from funding a food bank

I think it’s the strongest argument about all the milkshake shit, about which I’m ambivalent. It all just feels like noise.

Was thinking exactly the same earlier. Don’t really care about it, but it’s not really achieving anything except for giving people a laugh

As someone who cares a lot about strategy, the Widd one aside, I think they’re great. They’re about reminding voters of the huge gap between how easy and great Brexit was supposed to be, and the reality. Not letting folks retcon the promises and assertions they made before.

So what's the point in any political media campaigns? Why the hell does Fridge pose in front of faux 3rd Reich posters? You sound worried.

For me the gap between what Brexit was sold as, and therefore what people voted for, and the reality, is the fundamental reason we need a public vote. LBD is about lighting that gap up like a fucking Christmas tree in a way that doesn’t insult leave voters.

Really similar to the crowfunding of a hyper partisan indy blog in Scotland. Run by a man in Bath, attracts hundreds of thousands of pounds in funding but spends most of his time attacking No voters/politicians

Like the Brexit March which 1m took part in. What did it achieve? Nothing. Did it change minds? No. Did you see 1 million sig on a save the NHS petition, to stop the hostile environment or anything else where it could have mattered? No. It was a feel good day out, they dont care.
