So bizarre to take such a tetchy line! The tweet really struck me because it was such an interesting expansive question: sorry you got snark. One of the most comforting things I’ve found is people saying they’ll pray for you: atheists friends say they’ve felt touched by it too...

I guess because it feels like more of an undertaking than just thinking about someone - a kind of generosity to it. But I’ve had atheist friends ask me to pray for them and that was a comfort to them.
