Most women who’ve been raped and assaulted won’t see justice, and so empathy for perpetrators just isn’t forthcoming. And the tone shows, left or right, women’s safety is always treated as an annoyance, cast aside for proper “serious” politics, & forcibly removed from discussion.

A lot of us are tired of being told men who are utter misogynists are vital to the movement, and to just ignore that aspect of their behaviour, because they’re helpful to the project. The well’s empty now, Assange is the most high profile example, women have run out of patience.

Of course, the replies are all “can’t you just focus on the extradition” ignoring what I said about being asked to do this constantly, and “the charges are fake!” proving my point entirely.

The charges were dropped. If there was a case wouldn't they still be standing?

Do your job and find out the facts. Assange is a hero who has exposed war crimes and human rights abuses committed in our names around the world. And now he is being persecuted for exercising his right to free speech. We have no press freedom anymore.
-
Your organisation has profited and exploited Assange and his work, and all you've done for months now is smear him for actually standing up to corrupt power. The Guardian is a shit rag.
