Extraordinarily tired of constantly having arguments about gender in politics ignored, as though trying to stamp out misogyny, in personal actions and policy, is an unnecessary distraction from “real politics”. It’s exhausting and demeaning.

But whenever you argue for more representation, or for policies to consider impact on particular groups, people will bite their lip and loosely feign agreement, when their actions and private language harbour resentment at having to think about structural inequalities in politics

No one actually enjoys having to constantly discuss racism, sexism, homophobia, and how the state and society discriminate against disabled people and migrants, so the least people can do is listen without eye-rolling and bad faith accusations of opportunism.

Legitimately amazed that a chunk of people still believe they cannot get ahead in politics not because they don’t work hard, but because white, straight English men are the most put upon “group” in the whole country.

Yes, not even kids at school used it in the 90s/00s so I have no idea why a journalist in his 50s thought tweeting it in 2017 was appropriate about someone.
