In fairness “Sinn Féin should take their seats” *is* quicker to say/type than “I am an incredibly stupid person and am happy to publicly reveal that, and I have nothing but contempt for SF voters, who I believe are too thick to understand what they’re voting for.”

If you think that anyone in the Palace of Westminster or its environs knows that Sinn Féin means "Ourselves Alone" then you are grossly overestimating the level of education that the English have about anything in any other country in the world.

I understand the reasons for Sinn Fein refusing to take their seats, but what about the 60%+ of voters in 6 of their 7 seats who didn't vote for them?

but it is frustrating because they could just pretend, and then leave again and renounce it, and then have the morale higher ground in the eyes of many across the sea - which could help them with their ultimate goal perhaps in the long run?
