Agreed. And apologies. Did not mean to suggest you weren't aware. Am reading and replying during a late-night walk home in NZ. My hasty take was that omission of Stormont was here due to the limited period for outcomes of process rather than overlooking of NI in general.
NI Assembly rules allow one side to block a motion if they claim it has undue effect on one community. It’s the same rule the DUP has used to block votes on Gay Marriage. So if Brexit required NI Assembly consent Nationalists could just block it. 1/2

Isn’t that the basic reason we are in the shit with all of this ? EVERYONE forgot about NornIron and thought the Good Friday Agreement was a Bob Hoskins film.
But perhaps a worse precedent if all future become reliant on a suspended assembly? (I guess could include assembly with caveat...)
