One of the most damaging fallouts of Brexit has been the media creation of the Leave/Remain dichotomy as an identity of two extremes, when opinion on the EU is a spectrum. It’s easier to shift views on a spectrum: but when you cast it as a war of identities, people hunker down.

I have lots of problems w/ EU, but voted Remain, and think the biggest problems within the EU are right wing govts, & Britain itself. I’m dead against Lexit cos Brexit is a far right project & leaving the EU will do nothing but harm the UK. But I get called a Lexiter constantly.

Yeah agree. EU membership feels like the best of a lot of bad options on different fronts (economic, legal, peacekeeping). It shouldn't have to be this way really

The #FBPE mob pushed a lot of people towards Lexit

Know the feeling but the other way around, support Corbyn, always have, but also see need to remain within the EU for all sorts of reasons, yet get attacked as being anti-Corbyn because I am pro EU - should be permissible to be part of Left Bloc supporting EU & change from within

The left have a long anti- EU history It has been the failure of the biggest voices on the left, namely Corbyn's Labour to articulate the Lexit argument. This has allowed the right to dominate the narrative.

Shame Tony Benn is not still around, modern politicians are only interested in their political career, but even with this they are clueless about because majority of their electorate voted for brexit and will probably be voting for UKIP if this democratic treachery continues.

We need to leave, the EU are nothing but Mafia. We may have it hard for 2yrs, but we'll thrive after a no deal and get the help out and save 39billion

2 years, understatement. Why will we thrive without our biggest trading bloc? Will we save exactly 39 billion?

To some extent that's why I'm in favour of a Norway/EFTA model. The less input the U.K. has to EU legislation, the better it is for the British worker and consumer.
