A lot of the BBC ones did and their political journos tended to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics just like so many of their tory buddies Westminster.

Could be because Germany was an autocracy until 1919 and again from 1936 - 1945?

Did any journos not go to Oxford or Cambridge?!

I’d have liked to, but I was crushed under the wheel of the British Establishment that conspired to keep me out. ... ... ... And I didn’t get the grades.

Certainly many (most) seem to have gone to Oxford or Cambridge. Easy to spot by their poor quality writing and poor morals. Alumni that bring shame on their university.

Maybe in the light of what they’ve been doing to the country we should be more realistic about what Oxbridge produces?

I got a 3rd, from a third-tier insistution - a college of higher education (below polytechnic and university). But only 70K people graduated and a perfect statistical bell curve of results. Now, more than 100K get a 1st. So my 3rd is more elite than current 1sts. Spun enough?
