Just had to call an ambulance for a bloke half naked repeatedly trying to walk in front of busy traffic. Absolutely horrible seeing him nearly hit several times. Why can’t the fifth richest country in the world improve mental health services.

Was really upsetting, guy was clearly unwell, and I was worried he’d get hit before the ambulance arrived.

That's obscene. What have we become?

Several years ago a elderly man appeared on our doorstep with underpants over his trousers looking for somebody who was a figment of his imagination. It was nearly impossible to get help for him. He passed away a few weeks later.
-
Awful, poor man. Getting help of any kind is such a slog, without support networks and loved ones to advocate for you, your vulnerability is just through the roof.

Where was this, Dawn? I was on a bus in North West London last week and saw something similar on the other side of the road - constantly spinning into oncoming traffic
-
Just past Vauxhall bus station, on the Wandsworth Road. Hope it isn’t the same person and that this was a one off rather than regular occurence for the poor guy.

I once helped a young woman who was standing in front of traffic crying & obviously distressed, in the middle of the day, on a busy main highstreet, & not a single person tried to help her/intervene. The busses and cars just went around her, she was an 'inconvenience' to all.
-
Well done for helping her. Poor woman.
