I can imagine - I got £26 frames from TK Maxx, and shopped around for reglaze rates and this is still the cheapest: single vision, has to be thinned to max to even fit in the frame

There is the issue of cross subsidy. An eye exam probably has a cost of £50-60. Most multiple/chains charge £10-30. Your eye exam is paid for by the taxpayer £21.31 which is a loss to provide
