The reaction from UK Labour on the SDLP/FF news is predictably rubbish, ranging from “er.... dunno” to “we’re waiting for the NEC review on whether we stand candidates in NI”, with no official statement forthcoming.

There is a Labour CLP in NI. Pre Corbyn about 300 members, mostly shy Ulster Unionist, it jumped to 3000 during Corbyn Leadership elections, over 70% voting Corbyn. But U.K. solo run into NI would not play particularly well post Brexit etc

There is an appetite. I have nobody to vote for as I don’t believe in abstentionism, the SDLP have gone center right and Alliance haven’t a hope. Brexit policy hasn’t done them many favours though
