Fingers crossed this works: too often letters my consultants send my GPs never arrive, and accessing patient details swiftly is vital in emergency situations https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/dec/28/nhs-it-changes-patient-records-available-online-government-plans …

Ours are digital. Suspect it won't work out so easily with ambulance service, they don't have it here. Ambulance access to tablets etc is still pretty patchy and it would rely on lots of things working at once. Annoyingly one of the places it would be of most benefit too

Yes, I imagine - they do in most London ambulances probably also because they might take you anywhere based on traffic

Love too play 20 questions with junior doctors every time I go into hospital about whether I might have had an endoscopy in August 1998 or whatever because they are absolutely terrified that their records are wrong

Test results are usually available to GPs through a portal, these days. Discharge Summaries and TTO drug details sent electronically too.

The patient access service I’ve been using for the past year is a good start. But it really needs to extend beyond a GP’s medical record of patients and extend to hospital records. Or at least give paramedics access to hospital records from the app on a patient’s phone.
